The Stanwood FFA Agriculture Sales Team competed at the 89th National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana on Oct. 19th – 22th. The team placed first in the state to earn the ability to represent Washington at the national contest. At the national contest there were 40 states represented and the Stanwood Ag. Sales Team placed 5th out of the 40 teams represented. The Agricultural Sales Team uses skills that are used in the agriculture sales field. They compete individually as well as a team in using the skills of selling agriculture products that are used in the production and marketing of products. This year the team developed sales strategies to sell John Deere Balers to various producers involving different producers and enterprises. Each student is involved in an individual sales presentation, written exam, and a team activity. The team activity involves the students as a team to develop sales strategies for individual customers to make cold calls and meet their individual wants and needs.
This year’s team consisted of the following members: Gracie Johnson, Misti Lybbert, Amelia Main, and Brandon Reynolds.
